Bone on Bone · The Ranch

You said yes to you.

And now you're sitting on the bank of the Clarence, boobs out, tearing into a baguette, hands still stained red and ochre from pigment you ground out of river rock.

In a minute you'll swing up onto a horse, bareback, and ride him straight into the river. You'll feel his heart beating under your thighs, big and slow, and something in your chest will slow down to meet it.

All around you are women who came for the same thing. Potent. Creative. Here to connect, make and be met.

You sit there in awe, and it lands.

This is what I needed.

Why you're here

It's in you. Your world just won't let it out.

You know she's there. The artist. You feel her in the ideas you never start and the ache you can't name.

Your life got full and your creativity got the scraps. Same rooms, same rhythm, same you.

So we change the world around you. River, herd, clay, fire. Nobody needing you. Everything wanting you. And she walks straight back in.

What's included · Bone on Bone

Earth, horses, fire.

Born from my own time at the ranch, the place that brought me back to life. 113 acres of wild river country in the Northern Rivers: red earth, open sky, the Clarence running cold past the paddocks, and more than 35 horses roaming free.

Our days follow the light and the herd, not the clock.

  • The live shoot, held by me. Woman and horse, bone on bone, breathing as one. Witness it, or bring your camera and shoot alongside me. A ceremony on the land with emotional storytelling at its heart: how we make art from our own vision, and trade perfection for truth.
  • Ride bareback in the river and swim with the horses
  • The Troopy safari. Bush bashing across the land to bring in the herd
  • Wild clay. Collect it from the earth and turn it into art
  • Paint with earth pigments ground from river rock
  • Writing rituals each morning
  • Wild women, free. Whisky under the fireflies and stories by the fire
  • Creative practices and rituals to ignite you
  • Workshop materials for creative expansion to take home, so it doesn't end when you leave
  • An outdoor fire bath under the fireflies
  • Somatics or breathwork to drop out of your head and into your body
  • Fully catered farm food, every meal
  • Real free time to roam, take photos or sleep in the sun

Optional extra: a guided bush trail ride on horseback. Add it when you apply, or decide later.

What comes home with you

You'll drive home with your answer. No, this isn't all there is.

  • Something you made from the land with your own hands.
  • Your ideas loud again, and the nerve to follow them.
  • Your life, looking like art again.
In their words

“I came in craving something I couldn't quite explain, and I came out with a much deeper understanding of myself. She has this incredible ability to gently guide you towards parts of yourself you may have been searching for all along.”

Tori, photographer

“I walk away like I've been to a therapy session I never knew I needed. You have such a gift.”

Mel

“Lauren grounds you. She digs deeper than the surface level. Her power is she works on YOU.”

Your guide

I'm Lauren. The Rogue Artist.

Artist, photographer, writer, business owner, mother. I've built businesses, raised children and lost touch with my own creative fire along the way.

I found it again at a ranch that brought me back to life. And in Lombok, where I lived alongside village women, immersed in a world that changed how I saw everything.

Those experiences changed me. Now I create immersive creative residencies for women ready to step outside the familiar and feel that kind of aliveness for themselves.

Through wild clay, emotional storytelling in photography, creative writing and the places we travel, I bring women together to make, explore, challenge their perspective and reconnect with the parts of themselves that everyday life can bury.

Extraordinary places. Wild creativity. Room to become more yourself.

I built the residencies I needed, and couldn't find.

Good to know
Who is this for?

Women only. Intimate on purpose: 12 women on the land.

Where is it?

The Ranch on Clarence, near Louisa Creek in the Northern Rivers of NSW. You'll make your own way there, and we'll help coordinate car-pooling.

Do I need to ride?

No riding experience is needed for the horse swim or the Troopy safari. The bush trail ride is an optional extra.

What happens at the live shoot?

It's a ceremony I hold on the land. Woman and horse, bone on bone, breathing as one. Witness it, or bring your camera and shoot alongside me. Emotional storytelling is at its heart: how we make art from our own vision, and trade perfection for truth.

What are the facilities like?

Rustic. Shared toilets, outdoor hot showers and very limited phone signal. That's part of the point.

What if I can't come?

Places aren't refundable, but they are transferable. If life gets in the way, we'll always do what we can to help you pass your place on to another woman.

What's not included?

Travel to the ranch, the optional trail ride, travel insurance and personal spending.

You don't need permission.

Just a yes.
